The following condition report has been provided by Simon Parkes of Simon Parkes Art Conservation, Inc. 502 East 74th St. New York, NY 212-734-3920, simonparkes@msn.com , an independent restorer who is not an employee of Sotheby's. This delicate painting is in good condition. It seems that this is a painting in gouache, rather than oil. The paint layer is stable, although in the past slight flaking may have occurred in the blue vase where the heaviest paint has been applied. In the rest of the painting the condition seems to be very good. There is no varnish on the surface, which is appropriate, and the picture should be hung as is. It is safest for paintings which are very dry to be framed behind glass. Important: Please
