Catalogue Note

This bust, modeled from a plaster original currently housed in the collection of the Glinka State Museum of Musical Culture in Moscow, was immediately exhibited to great acclaim in both bronze and silver versions at the Sixth and Seventh Exhibitions of the Union of Russian Artists (Soiuz russkikh khudozhnikov).  An identical version in silvered bronze is in the collection of the State Tretiakov Gallery in Moscow.  See M. M. Kolpachki, Skulptura i risunki skulptorov kontsa XIX-nachala XX veka. Katalog, Moscow, 1977, p. 579.
