framed plaquette shows Alexander I in standing profile, gesturing to a crowd of grateful citizens at left, beneath a sky with clouds in which the sun is replaced by his Imperial cypher, to the right are various ancient symbols of muscovite and Russian Imperial power including the crown of monomakh, a shield with St. George, and the double-headed eagle
