Condition

The following condition report has been provided by Simon Parkes of Simon Parkes Art Conservation, Inc. 502 East 74th St. New York, NY 212-734-3920, simonparkes@msn.com , an independent restorer who is not an employee of Sotheby's. This painting on canvas has probably never been removed from its original stretcher, certainly not lined or reinforced on the reverse. The paint layer seems to be cleaned and varnished but the varnish may also be original. We're unaware of any damages or retouchings that have occurred to the surface and recommend the picture be hung as is.
