Condition
The following condition report has been provided by Simon Parkes of Simon Parkes Art Conservation, Inc. 502 East 74th St. New York, NY 212-734-3920, simonparkes@msn.com , an independent restorer who is not an employee of Sotheby's.
This painting has probably never been restored. The canvas is unlined and still on its original stretcher. In the upper left background next to the nail here, there's a scuff to the varnish which needs some correction. There are a few other tiny spots above the inscription in the lower right which also could be corrected.
In general, the picture seems to be in very good state and will be ready to hang if these small restorations are taken care of.
