Condition
The following condition report has been provided by Simon Parkes of Simon Parkes Art Conservation, Inc. 502 East 74th St. New York, NY 212-734-3920, simonparkes@msn.com , an independent restorer who is not an employee of Sotheby's.
This diptych appears to be in healthy and original condition. The canvas is slight relaxed on the stretcher yet this may be easily tightened. The paint layer seems to be untouched and clean, and there do not appear to be any restorations. If the canvas were to be tightened and care taken not to smudge the front with fingerprints, the picture should be ready to hang.
