This painting has most likely never been removed from its original frame or from its original stretcher. The paint layer is extremely dirty and dull, and will respond well to cleaning. In the past some dampness has caused a small amount of paint loss along the lower left edge. This damage should be consolidated and retouched. There appears to be no further damage and the picture will improve dramatically when cleaned and restored properly.
