Condition

The following condition report has been provided by Simon Parkes of Simon Parkes Art Conservation, Inc. 502 East 74th St. New York, NY 212-734-3920, simonparkes@msn.com , an independent restorer who is not an employee of Sotheby's. This painting is generally in good condition. It appears that the stretcher and the board are not adhered to the painting itself. The original board is a little warped and distorted yet the paint layer is stable, although most likely slight dirty. There appear to be no restorations and it seems that if the picture were to be cleaned, no restorations would be necessary. The uneven surface is probably something that should be left alone unless one considers mounting the painting directly onto a solid support.
