- A large Venetian mirror
- 155cm. by 126cm.;
- 5ft 1in., 4ft 1½in.
of rectangular form, the mirrored frame decorated with leaf and flower motifs
Condition
A large and impressive piece the scale of which is not obvious from the catalogue illustration. There are some blemishes to the silvering consistent with age. These are not too distracting. Some larger blemishes to the silvering on the outer frame have been re-touched on one short edge. The largest of these is approx. 5cm. by 4cm. Some silvering to the leaves on the applied decoration on the right hand side have been crudely repaired. All these repaired areas can be seen as lighter patches in the catalogue illustration. A piece of the backing board/wooden frame is missing from the same edge. This piece is approx. 16cm. long. There are some old marks and scratches to the wooden backing frame. A spectacular piece.
