  • A Mythological Head
  • 60cm. high;
  • 1ft 11½in.
painted plaster, formed as the head of a god, probably Mercury, atop a column

Condition

A striking sculpture in good overall condition. Some old marks and scratches, including some minor chipping, especially to the edges of the base and wingtips. One 'wing' in the hair has a hairline crack running through it, and a few chips. Some discolouration to one cheek. Refinished. Some small areas of rubbing, revealing an earlier bronze-coloured patina and, in a few small areas to reverse, white plaster.. An unusual piece ready for display.
