Description
- height of first teapot 4 1/2 in.
- 11.4 cm
comprising a globular teapot and cover painted on either side with a large peony within a fenced garden near an acacia tree, a pear-shaped quadrilobed footed teapot painted on either side with a Jacobite figure either emerging above or standing beside a molded row of overlapping pecten shells issuing oak leaves and acorns, four small pear-shaped milk jugs each painted with floral sprays and a pair of miniature plates painted with flower sprays within trellis-molded borders. Some restoration, second teapot lacking cover. 8 pieces.
Condition
First teapot: tip of spout restored; several small restored chips to the edge of the cover; small restored chip to tip of knop.
Second teapot: cover lacking; handle has been off and restored back; the entire edge of the rim is oversprayed, presumably covering restoration to small chips and/or haircracks.
Jugs: the jug with the rose spray is in generally good condition apart from a minor, narrow 1/8-in. rim chip above the handle; the jug with the fenced garden has a minor fine haircrack through the terminus of the handle, a 1/2-in. and a 3/4-in. area of restoration to the rim, probably covering chips, and a minor less than 1/8-in. chip to the rim;the jug with the peony spray is in generally good condition apart from a 1/16-in. chip and two pinhead firing faults to the rim; the handle of the last jug is restored and there is an approximate 1/8-1/4-in. restored rim chip.
Miniature plates: one has a fine 3/4-in. haircrack to the rim, the other has a flat 1/4-in rim chip.
