Condition

Overall in very good condition with dirt and light scratches throughout. Minor chip to front left corner. Pedestal with minor chips and dirt.

Catalogue Note

The plaster model of the present sculpture was exhibited at the Salon in 1903, which lead to a state commission of it in marble in 1904 for the Parc du Palais de L' Elysée. The latter is now in the permanent collection of the Musée d'Orsay.
