Description
- height 17 1/4 in.
- 43.8 cm
after an 18th century model by Johann Joachim Kändler, modeled in an oratorical stance wearing a laurel wreath and the lacerna of a Roman general, his helmet beside him, crossed sword marks underglaze-blue, incised numerals. Some restoration.
Condition
The baton and right forearm are restored. There is a restored crack running across the base from side to side across his right ankle - it appears to be a restored crack but could have been a break, as it is not possible to fully determine the full nature of the damage beneath the restoartion. There are minor restored chips to the laurel wreath.
