the Verde Patrcia Scuro marble top with canted corners, the tapering form inlaid on both sides with woven kingwood parquetry within ebony and boxwood stringings.

Condition
Overall in good condition with the usual minor scratches, dents and nicks to veneers and carcass consistent with age and use. Slight tarnishing to gilt-bronze in places. The marble with the usual chips to edges and scratches to surface consistent with age. Traces of new hardware to mounts.

The present pedestal is a copy of the celebrated model made circa 1785, surmounted by a clock adorned by cloud-born putti, attributed to Jean-Henri Riesener and now in the permanent collection of the Musée du Louvre (cat. C.Dr., No 185).
