the crest surmounted by billing doves, flambeaux and quivers, the beveled central mirror plate framed within mirror bandings and acanthus cast borders.
Condition
Overall in good condition. Loss to gesso to the back of the crest now showing the two former iron rods which are part of the crest construction. Chip to beak of upper dove and overall with chips to tips of leaves around the crest. The mirror overall with chips to edges now showing gesso and wood consistent with age and flaking to gilding in places with some very minor areas of paint re-touching. Wear to gilding consistent with touching. Traces of glue to crest to the upper part of crest with dove.
