varnish yellowed, paint lifting above sitter's head, minor loss of plaster on frame in contemporary frame of gitlwood and plaster

Catalogue Note

Archduchess Marie Therese of Austria-Este, Princess of Modena, born in BrĂ¼nn July 7 1849, here shown one year old. Her parents were Archduke Ferdinand of Austria-Este and Archduchess Elisabeth. In 1868 she married the Bavarian Prince Ludwig (1845-1912) who in 1912  succeeded  to the thrown as Ludwig III
