Description

  • 160 by 252 cm.
worked with two different types of leaves, one heart-shaped, the other with spiny rim, enlivened by snails and birds, dragon flies and interspersed with flowers, retaining bottom and right hand side and top border, the left border of much later date and painted, selvedge bottom right worked with crescent-shaped mark

Condition

In fair condition, slightly dry and soiled. The central feuille de choux panel with some wear, tears, smaller losses and repairs. Smaller losses and repairs. The later border with several tears and losses due to moth pest, especially at the lower rim. The left border with painted decoration, stained and with usual ageing.
