Description

  • 138 cm.
carved in three-quarter relief and painted on relatively thick layer of gesso ground, rests of old polychromy, later head, damages

Condition

Damage from worming, the wood of the saint's proper left section carved from a separate piece, the head and top of right hand also carved from a separate piece. The shoulder severely affected from woodworm, his right hand fractured, vertical crack through the right half of his face. Overall with losses to the original painted surface and several layers of later polychromy.
