Studio of Frans Francken the Younger Antwerp 1581 - 1642

The catalogue illustration is representative for the actual painting. The single copper plate is stable and flat. The paint layer is in good condition, no damages are visible to the naked eye, except for some minor frame abrasion along the upper edge. The paint surface is covered under a discoloured and glossy varnish layer. Inspection under UV-light reveals a few scattered spots in the centre foreground and lower right. The figures are well preserved. Offered in an ornate, painted frame, in good condition. (JD)
