d'après le modèle de Falconet, l'Amour assis sur un nuage, entouré de quatre jeunes filles, l'une assise tenant une tablette et un crayon, une autre debout tenant des feuillets et deux derrière l'Amour, marqué : F en creux pour Falconet ; (quelques restaurations aux extrémités ; manque le panier)

Condition

Mercury: Both wings broken and restuck. Thumb broken and missing on the right hand. The end of right foot broken and restuck. A firing crack on the left arm. Head broken on the neck and restuck. The young lady seated: Her right foot restored The young lady reading: Minor chipping to the flowers and leaves on the garland on her head. The young lady at the back of Mercury: Good condition The young lady holding flowers: Minor chips to the flowers in her left hand. The basket of flower at her feet is broken and missing, also missing half of a flowers garland. Chips to the flowers in the other basket on the other side and to the flowers applied on the terrace.

Catalogue Note

Le modèle de ce groupe est créé en 1763. Madame de Pompadour achète un exemplaire au prix de 480 livres en 1763 (arch. MNS, Vy3, folio. 157). Le Roi en achète deux en 1765 dont un pour le château de Bellevue. Le musée de Sèvres conserve un biscuit de ce modèle (Falconet à Sèvres 1757-1766, exposition Musée de Sèvres, novembre 2001-février 2002, n°107, p. 180).
