Catalogue Note
This collaboration between Jasper Johns and Frank O'Hara was the only completed edition of six lithographs planned in 1963 as a portfolio. The "skin" stone was printed in that year but it was not until 1965 that the poem was successfully transferred to a lithographic stone in reverse so that it would be legible when printed.
