Description

  • Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec
  • May Milton (D. 356; W. P17; Adr. 138)
  • sheet 790 by 612 mm 31 1/16 by 24 1/16 in
Lithograph printed in colors, 1895, second (final) state, from the edition of 100, on wove paper,  in good condition apart from pale light-stain, linen-backed, framed

Condition

The print is in good condition as catalogued. Light-stain has darkened the unprinted areas of the sheet (figure and floor). There are a few flattened creases, the most noticeable being a 3 inch horizontal crease below the figure's right hand. Other creases and ripples in the sheet caused by backing are less obtrusive.

Since we are not professional conservators or restorers, we urge you to consult with a restorer or conservator of your choice who will be better able to provide a detailed, professional report. Prospective buyers should inspect each lot to satisfy themselves as to condition and must understand that any statement made by Sotheby's is merely a subjective qualified opinion.
