Catalogue Note
General Patton sends military insignia to a collector. "It is my pleasure to send you the enclosed patches for your collection, and small coller [sic] stars of rank, all of which I have worn proudley [sic]. I was honored to have commanded these units in WW2, I thank you for thenking [sic] of me, and your kind words. Also how did you track me down?" This note was written the month before Patton died in Heidelberg.
The three insignia patches attached to the letter are those of the 2nd Armored Division, the U. S. II Corps, and the 3rd U. S. Army.
