This early print is on paper with a surface sheen and is mounted on a thin cream-colored board that appears to have been trimmed. It is in generally good to very good condition. There is slight wear at the edges, with a tiny nick at the lower edge. In raking light, faint surface scratches are visible, particularly under the sitter's chin and at the upper right. There is light soiling on the mount, and it is age-darkened on the reverse. The label has been cut from the original backing of the frame in which the photograph was originally found. This print has been recently conserved, and the treatment report is available upon request.
