Description

  • Margaret Bourke-White
  • selected images of acoma pueblo
2 photographs, each warm-toned with black borders, mounted, signed by the photographer in pencil on the mount, with her 'A Margaret Bourke-White Photo' credit stamp on the reverse, matted, 1930s (2)

Condition

These warm-toned prints, on semi-matte double-weight paper, are in generally excellent condition. There is slight wear to the black ink edges. When examined in raking light, age-appropriate silvering is visible in the dark areas, and a faint 7 ΒΌ-inch vertical scratch is visible at the center left in the pueblo landscape image. The embossed tan mounts have some wear at the edges, with appropriate age-darkening and random small tidelines. '14/19' is written on the reverse of each mount in an unidentified hand in pencil.
