mounted, signed by the photographer and numbered '17/50' in an unidentified hand in pencil on the mount, the 'Ansel Adams, Yosemite and the Range of Light' letterpress label on the reverse, circa 1935, printed in 1979 to accompany the deluxe edition of Adams's book Yosemite and the Range of Light (New York, 1979), no. 17 from a total edition of 53 (Yosemite and the Range of Light, pl. 16; Trees, p. 71; 400 Photographs, p. 348; Photography's Multiple Roles, p. 170)

Condition

This print is in generally excellent condition. In high raking light, a pencil-point-sized deposit of indeterminate nature is visible in the center of the print. The corners of the mount are lightly bumped, and the upper right corner is slightly soiled.
