Condition

This early print, with negative borders at the top and bottom of the print, is in generally very good condition. There is rippling at each of the edges, typical of Arbus's prints, and there is a fold at the right margin edge that likely occurred during processing. There are very pale handling marks in the left and lower right corner margins. Visible in raking light are a small crescent-shaped sharp handling crease and an 8-inch scratch on the print's surface, neither of which breaks the emulsion. On the reverse of the print, there are rust-colored pinpoint deposits of indeterminate nature scattered near the lower edge. These do not affect the image.
