Description
- Henry Wessel, Jr.
- 'berkeley, ca.'
signed 'Henry Wessel, Jr.,' titled, and dated by the photographer in pencil on the reverse, matted, 1974, printed no later than 1980
Provenance
Acquired by the present owner from the photographer, circa 1983
Condition
This photograph, on cool-white, semi-glossy, double-weight paper, is in generally excellent condition. The corners are lightly bumped. In raking light, soft handling creases are visible in the lower left quadrant.
On the reverse, there are a number of unobtrusive pinpoint-sized rust-colored spots which do not affect the image and are not visible from the front. There is slight soiling in the corners on the reverse.
According to Henry Wessel, he signed prints 'Henry Wessel, Jr.' through 1979; in 1980, he dropped the 'Jr.' from his signature. Although this photograph was purchased around 1983, it is likely that it was made prior to 1980, because of the signature.
