- tulips ('just to thank you')
mounted on wove paper, signed, dated, and numbered '21/50' by the photographer in pencil and with the printed inscription 'Just to Thank You' on the mount, matted, in a frame designed to the photographer's specifications, 1987, no. 21 in an edition of 50 (Pistils, p. 97; Mapplethorpe, p. 231; Complete Flowers, pl. 147; Flora Photographica, pl. 127)
Condition
This photograph is in generally excellent condition. There are tiny pinpoint indentations and a 1/8-inch scuff in the upper left and lower right quadrants that appear to break the emulsion. In raking light, there is a pinpoint indentation visible in the lower right quadrant that does not break the emulsion.
This print, like others from this edition, was presented by the photographer as a gift.
