Description
- Bill Brandt
- coal miners' houses without windows to the street (east durham)
annotated and numbered '44b' by the photographer and credited in an unidentified hand in ink and with a copyright stamp and photo agency label on the reverse, matted, circa 1937, probably printed in the 1950s (Shadow of Light, p. 45; Brandt, pl. 100)
Condition
This print, on medium-weight paper with a semi-glossy surface, is in generally good to very good condition. There is wear at the edges, and the corners are bumped. There are a number of small soft and sharp handling creases, not breaking the emulsion, scattered throughout the surface of the print.
We base our dating of this print on its presentation and on the paper's surface and appearance. When examined with a black light, this print appears to fluoresce.
