Condition

For 'Brooklyn, April 20, 1947': This photograph is in generally good condition. The corners are bumped and there is wear at the edges. Visible in raking light is significant pitting, typical of ferrotyped prints, on the surface of the print. There is a small area of emulsion loss at the left center of the image in the brick facade, that appears to have been retouched. 'Sixth Avenue, New York, 1959' - This photograph is in generally good condition. The corners are bumped and creased, and there is wear at the edges. There is a 1/4-inch red crayon line at the left-hand side of the top edge. In raking light, the following are visible: fingerprints scattered on the surface; a small circular area of retouching in the upper left portion; soft handling creases in the lower portions; and a pinpoint indentation that appears to break the emulsion in the lower left portion. 'MacDougal Alley During Snowstorm, 1967' - This photograph is in generally in excellent condition. The corners are bumped, and there is chipping of the emulsion in the lower left margin edge. There are soft handling creases in the left margin, not affecting the image.
