Description

- the photographer's children on a hillside
orange-toned gum-bichromate print on laid paper, numbered '50' and with reduction notations and other annotations in unidentified hands in pencil on the reverse, matted, circa 1903
Provenance
Acquired by the present owner from Lunn Gallery/Graphics International Ltd., Washington, D. C., 1978
Condition
This photograph, on heavy paper with a very slight surface sheen, is in generally excellent condition. The upper right corner is chipped and a small section of emulsion is missing.
On the reverse, the print is annotated 'Che al Sel' in an unidentified hand in pencil. There is very faint age-darkening at the edges and very minor soiling and droplet deposits visible which do not affect the image. Remnants of old adhesive and board on the print's reverse indicate that it was at one time mounted.
