Description

  • Edward Weston
  • 'moonrise, death valley'
mounted, signed and dated by the photographer in pencil on the mount, titled by him in pencil on the reverse, matted, 1938

Condition

This print, on paper with a somewhat smooth surface, is in generally fair to good condition. As visible in our catalogue illustration, there are four small circular losses of emulsion in the lower portion of the print. The edges of the print are lightly sunned and have a few small chips. Silvering is visible at the lower portion of the side edges and along the bottom edge. The photograph is mounted to beige board. The front of the mount is age-darkened to different degrees as a result of past matting treatments, and has minor surface soiling. The reverse is age-darkened and has minor surface soiling.
