Description

  • Eadweard Muybridge
  • sequential motion study, horse and rider
albumen print, showing 20 Sequential Frames of a Locomotion Study of a Horse and Rider, mounted to gray board, numbered '48,' probably by the photographer, in pencil and with his copyright stamp on the mount, matted, 1881

Condition

This early print, on its original mount, is in generally excellent condition. There is a small 1/4-inch sharp crease resembling a repaired tear at the upper margin edge. The mount is in generally excellent condition as well, with rounded corners and age-darkening at the periphery. These are negligible and do not affect the images in any way.

Catalogue Note
