Description

  • Manuel Álvarez Bravo
  • peregrino en las cosas desta vida (pilgrim of the things of this life)
mounted, signed and annotated 'Mexico' by the photographer in pencil on the mount, matted, 1942, printed later (Kismaric, p. 84; Getty, pl. 41)

Condition

This print, on single-weight paper with a semi-glossy surface and on a heavy cream-colored paper mount with a deckled edge, is in very good to excellent condition. In raking light, several small soft handling creases and one sharp handling crease not breaking the emulsion and two tiny raised areas, or bumps, are visible. These likely occurred prior to--or at the time of--mounting. Also visible in raking light are light indentations not breaking the emulsion. When examined with a black light, this print does not appear to fluoresce. There are no other signs of age relating to this photograph. The mount does fluoresce.
