Catalogue Note
Picasso tolerated Quinn's witnessing his work as he tolerated few other photographers. These boards therefore have the merit of describing the sequential changes made by Picasso as he worked. Of great interest to art historians, they show the sometimes very radical alterations Picasso made as he developed from roughest outline to finished painting.
