Catalogue Note
The group of photographs offered here is part of a commission Renger-Patzsch received in 1949–1965 by Schubert & Salzer, a company from Ingolstadt in South Germany. The whole set of more than a thousand vintage prints and glass negatives is preserved at the Museum Ludwig in Cologne. The style of Renger-Patzsch's famous work from the 1920s and '30s is perfectly continued in this body of industrial 'late work': objectivity in detail and formal strength in composition.
