Condition

Overall the condition of the cameo is excellent. There are some older chips, which were taken into account when mounted, and there is some minor wear consistent with age.

Catalogue Note

This delicate and exquisite double-sided cameo compares well with the Cameo on a Unique Semi-Oval Sardonyx formerly in the collection of George, the third Duke of Marlborough and is very possibly by the same hand.
