The present cameo, representing a Roman Emperor with his two sons, one living and one passed, compares well with cameo of four interlayered heads of emperors (illustrated by Weber), which utilises the same palette of the present lot.

Condition
Overall the condition of the cameo is very good. It is mounted on a later piece of glass due to a crack running down the centre. There are some further minor cracks to the surface, particularly to the head facing down.
