Circle of Adriaen van Stalbemt

"The following condition report has been provided by Henry Gentle, an independent restorer who is not an employee of Sotheby's. The copper panel is in good condition. The paint layer is stable , however, previous instability of the paint layer has led to some paint losses, particularly in the foliage of the trees upper left and along the bottom. These losses have been skilfully restored out are hard to distinguish. As well as restored paint losses along the bottom edge a fine filigree of pale cracking has also been reduced. There is a degraded varnish covering the paint surface , its removal would improve the overall tonality. Modern dark wood and painted frame-good condition."
