- oil on canvas
Condition
Painting relined and pressed and uneven as a result. Under an old uneven glossy varnish. In the upper right side there are three small rough raised areas, which appear to be restorations of old punctures. Ultraviolet reveals aforementioned restorations and other restorations scattered here and there throughout. The thick uneven varnish makes it difficult to determine the full extent of retouches and restorations.
Despite the overall condition, this picture clearly has passages that are free and course and well-retained (for example, in the horse's face). There is a lot of good original material here for a careful restoration to really improve the painting.
In a carved wood frame.
