Condition

Canvas on both has been laid down on panel. under extremely dirty, dull varnish. paint surface has been well preserved and detail on both is very well retained. there is a pinprick loss in Apollo's hair and and an old discolored retouch to neck of goddess. ultraviolet light reveals retouching to backgrounds. otherwise, it is difficult to see anything through the dirty old varnish. these paintings have not been attended to in a long itme and would benefit from a sensitive restoration. In elaborately carved and gilt wood frames with some nicks.
