Condition

The following condition report has been provided by Simon Parkes of Simon Parkes Art Conservation, Inc. 502 East 74th St. New York, NY 212-734-3920, simonparkes@msn.com , an independent restorer who is not an employee of Sotheby's. This pastel on paper seems to be in very good condition, and while reporting on the condition of pastels is a tricky business, given the fact that one cannot identify restorations so easily, it seems unlikely that there are any. This is most likely a picture that has never been removed from its glass frame, yet it is not unusual in this case to ask a restorer who specializes in pastels from this period to examine the piece.
