Condition
The painting is cooler and less red than the catalogue illustration suggests. The paint surface is a little thin throughout, particularly in the upper right quarter, though the impression is that this was deliberately left in a sketch stage and not a finished piece. Despite the slighltly yellowed varnish, inspection under UV light shows extensive retouchings throughout. Offered in a gilt wood frame with some minor paint losses.
