Condition
The painting is less red and more defined than the catalogue illustration suggests. The canvas has been relined and is unframed. The paint surface is under a yellowed varnish but appears to the naked eye to be well preserved and to have retained its dynamism and detail. A small restored tear can be made out in the background upper elft. Thorough inspection under UV light is impeded by the thick varnish but a few scattered retouchings flouresce. Overall the painting is in dirty but fair condition.
