Condition
The painting is richer and more detailed, especially in the darker areas, than the illustration in the catalogue suggests, and is more dynamic in its movement and figures. The relined canvas is offered in a plain wood frame. The paint surface is secure with no apparent losses visible to the naked eye. Inspection under ultraviolet light initially reveals just a few scattered retouchings but some older retouchings do become apparent under the oxidised varnish. Overall this beautiful painting is in fair condition.
