The colours in the catalogue are representative of those in the painting, except the blues of the sky are a little bit brighter in the actual painting. The canvas has been relined. There is a seam running vertically down the centre of the original canvas which can be seen on the painted surface. The paint surface is a little abraded in areas but is secured by a dirty varnish. There are some minor scattered areas of paint loss. Inspection under UV light reveals scattered retouchings and strengthenings and small restored areas of damage. There is more concentrated retouching along the seam. Offered in a later gold painted frame in fair condition with some paint losses.
