The catalogue illustration is representative of the painting. The canvas has been relined and it is mounted in a wood gilt XIX Century frame, with some losses of guilt. To the naked eye the painting appears in very good condition, with only a tiny paint loss in the sky and two minor restoration in the sky to the right hand side. Inspection under ultra-violet light confirms the good state of the picture, revealing only some minor restoration. The painting will benefit from a cleaning.
