Description
- Madonna col Bambino in trono tra due sante e la Crocefissione
- olio su tavola, fondo oro
Condition
The catalogue illustration is representative of the painting.
The panel is mounted inside the frame and it is not possible to examine its reverse.
A loss above Christ and another one to the right margin of the painting, above the column, together with many little losses along the margins of the frame are visible to the naked eye, as well as from the catalogue illustration.
Nearly seven holes, mainly situated along the back of the throne, are visible also from the illustration.
Here and there the paint surface appears abraded, particularly on the Child robe and on the Christ body.
The old varnish layer impedes clear inspection under ultra-violet light.
