The colours in the catalogue illustration are representative of the painting. The canvas has been relined. There are some small scratches and scattered spots of paint loss and some areas are somewhat abraded. The paint surface is now secured by a thick dirty varnish. There is some frame abrasion along the edges. The varnish prevents thorough inspection under UV light but the most recent retouchings to the background areas (especially to the left edge) do fluoresce. Offered in a carved gilt wood frame in fairly good condition.
